Scandinavian alt-rock ensemble Helsinki Horizon is gearing up to release their upcoming album "Sirens" on March 15. This eight-track record promises to captivate listeners with its unique blend of rock, alternative, and cinematic elements, offering a compelling sonic journey through diverse subgenres.

Composed entirely by Snorre Hovdal, "Sirens" serves as a sonic and visual sequel to their acclaimed "Signal Flares," while also standing as a standalone concept album. Drawing inspiration from "Homer's Odyssey" through a modern lens, the album delves into existentialism, the human facade, societal forces, the decay of nature, and their collective consequences.

The album features a diverse range of tracks, each with its own distinct character and influences. "Tie Them to The Mast" embarks on a groovy and gritty sonic voyage, blending '80s synths and tremolo guitars, leading to an intense finale. "Sirens" presents a slow-burning, heavy composition inspired by '70s progressive and metal, while "Unmoored" delivers a gritty garage-rock sound. "Cellar Door" offers a mesmerizing and syncopated exploration of childhoods in the winter cold. Each track promises to take listeners on a journey that will leave them wanting more.

Adding an intriguing layer to the album, the band is currently delving into a mystery surrounding the artwork for the song "Ættar." The artwork features a boat, the original printed image of which was discovered tucked between the pages of an old book in a second-hand store, sparking the visual theme of the album. Despite their online research, the backstory and origins of this boat remain an enigma, fueling curiosity and speculation.

With "Sirens," Helsinki Horizon promises a captivating and immersive musical experience, offering a rich tapestry of sonic landscapes and collaborative creativity. The album, coupled with its enigmatic visual elements, is poised to leave a lasting impression on fans of post-rock, alternative, and cinematic music.
