Out of print for decades and revered among collectors of the Swan Song label, the album now returns in a newly remastered, limited-edition color vinyl pressing of just 500 copies, alongside a CD reissue, both meticulously restored for modern listening while preserving the spirit of the original analog recordings.
Originally issued on Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song Records, "It Takes One To Know One" represents the creative high-water mark of a band that bridged the space between British rock theatricality and American blues muscle. The lineup, Michael Des Barres (vocals), Michael Monarch (guitar), Tony Kaye (keyboards), Bobby Pickett (bass), and Jon Hyde (drums), crafted a sound equal parts grit and grandeur, earning tours alongside KISS, AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult and others while quietly building a cult reputation that endures among deep diggers of 1970s rock.
