Embertears set new album "Songs For The Rain God Pt. 2" for November 20th via Bitume Prods

Hungarian sludge, progressive and stoner metal project Embertears will release its new album "Songs For The Rain God Pt. 2" on November 20th, 2026 through Bitume Prods. The album will be available digitally and on CD digipack.

Founded in 2021 by Tamás “Tom” Géza Albert in Győr, Hungary, Embertears is a solo metal project built around concept-driven releases. After exploring Biblical themes on "The Flood" (2022), "Blue Chapter" (2023) and "Red Chapter" (2024), Albert turned his attention to the Spanish conquest of Mesoamerica with 2025’s "Songs For The Rain God Pt. 1".

"Songs For The Rain God Pt. 2" continues that story, offering a personal interpretation of the conquest led by Hernán Cortés while also examining the events from the perspective of the Aztec Empire. Rather than treating the subject as a simple historical retelling, the album approaches it through contrasting viewpoints, placing conflict, belief and cultural collision at the centre of its narrative.

Musically, the album develops the blend of sludge, progressive and stoner metal established across Embertears’ previous releases. Heavy, distorted riffs sit alongside cleaner and more melodic guitar passages, with songs moving between slow, mid-paced and faster sections. Frequent tempo changes and shifting time signatures, from conventional 4/4 and 3/4 to meters such as 5/4 and 6/4, give the record a restless, progressive character without losing its weight.

The guitar work moves between dense, crushing passages and more restrained, expressive sections, with technical playing used as part of the songwriting rather than as an end in itself. That contrast is central to the album’s character, allowing heavier sections to sit naturally alongside more spacious and melodic moments.

As with previous Embertears releases, "Songs For The Rain God Pt. 2" is entirely the work of Tamás “Tom” Géza Albert, who wrote, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered the album. The result is a record with a clear individual identity, continuing both the historical narrative introduced on "Pt. 1" and Embertears’ ongoing development as a self-contained solo project.
