Forlorn Citadel will release the new album “An Oath Undone” on April 3, 2026 via Northern Silence Productions in digital, LP, and CD formats.

Formed in 2017, Forlorn Citadel is the Australian one-man project of multi-instrumentalist Solace (Matthew Bell). Drawing on fantasy lore, medieval history, and the influence of bands such as Summoning and Caladan Brood, the project has built a distinct sound rooted in epic black metal and dungeon synth. In 2026, Forlorn Citadel will appear live for the first time, joined by session members.

Conceived and created in solitude, “An Oath Undone” is presented as a work centered on decay, memory, and the gradual erosion of purpose. Its songs move through a world shaped by medieval ruin, restraint, and absence, following the slow collapse of ideals and the hollow weight they leave behind. Rather than offering resolution, the album lingers in suspension, turning inward and holding to an atmosphere where honor survives only as echo and ash.
