Italian death metal band Membrance present Resa Marciana, a new full-length rooted in old-school Stockholm death metal while incorporating elements of groove/thrash and Norwegian black metal.

What sets Resa Marciana apart is its strong folkloristic and identity-driven approach. The album is entirely performed in the Venetian dialect, with lyrics exploring ancient and disturbing lagoon legends, stories tied to the islands of Venice, and reflections on the city’s current condition. This thematic direction is matched musically by a blend of aggressive riffs and darker atmospheric elements.

All music and lyrics were composed by frontman Davide Lazzarini, except for the closing track, which is an arrangement of an ancient Venetian folk piece. The album was self-produced by the band and recorded between Venice and Rome during the spring and summer of 2025. Mixing and mastering were handled at 16th Cellar Studio in Rome by Stefano Morabito. The cover artwork, created by painter Sheila Franco, reflects the concept of a dying Venice, depicting the iconic lion as a distorted figure sinking along with the city.
