Hungarian gothic rock/metal solo artist Dory DayDreamer is back with a brand-new single, released on 28 June 2025. The song “Hogy maradjak életben?” is the lead single from her upcoming album.
An official music video was released alongside the song, filmed at the Eger Castle Replica Ruins in Pilisborosjenő, Hungary.
Dory is currently working on her new album, expected to be released in the first half of 2026.
“The main theme of the album will be the feeling of disappointment, with each song telling a story around this emotion: disappointment in oneself, as someone’s child, in love, in time.”
Dory DayDreamer began recording her own songs in 2012 as a self-taught musician, while also working on another project called She Can’t Speak. Over the years, she has released nine full-length albums and one EP. She usually organizes her songs into concept albums, with lyrics that reach great emotional depth. The main themes of her music are mental health issues, difficult life situations, love, and the struggle with oneself. Her songs also carry positive messages about perseverance, dreams, and hope.
Dory’s comment about the song: "This song expresses the feeling of trying to fit into life over and over again, only to be met with disappointment each time. You keep falling back to where you started, and with every attempt, you have less strength left to start over. You start asking yourself how to stay alive like this, and how much longer you have to keep trying. Hogy maradjak életben? is about the struggle to belong while dealing with mental illness, and the deep questioning of one's own worth and identity."
