Australian progressive music project Terra Chroma released “Dance of the Afghan jinn” in April, continuing the band’s mix of progressive rock, metal and djent influences through shifting rhythms, atmospheric passages and heavier riff-driven sections.

Built around cinematic textures and intricate time signatures, the track moves between restrained ambient moments and more explosive rhythmic sections. Rather than leaning entirely into technical excess, Terra Chroma keep the song grounded in mood and movement, allowing the heavier guitar work and layered arrangements to develop naturally across the track.

Active since 2023, Terra Chroma approach progressive music through a broad range of influences, combining modern progressive metal with elements pulled from classic progressive rock and more atmospheric forms of heavy music.
