Swedish progressive dark metal project Mylingen returns with Det inre mörkret, the follow-up to Under en svart himmel and the 2025 EP Svartsyn. Founded in 2022 by multi-instrumentalist Viktor Jonas following the end of his long-running band Apathy Noir, Mylingen has gradually developed its own identity by combining dark metal with Swedish lyrics and themes inspired by Scandinavian folklore.

For Det inre mörkret, Mylingen takes another step forward. Rather than expanding on previous material, the songwriting was approached with a different mindset, introducing stronger influences from progressive rock and space rock while retaining the dark, melodic metal sound established on earlier releases.

The album artwork is based on Hieronymus Bosch's The Garden of Earthly Delights, reflecting the album's themes of contrast, ambiguity and layered meaning. Following the digital release, LP and CD editions will become available later this summer via Elasticstage.
