Autrest, the atmospheric black metal solo project from the mountainous region of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, will release the new album "Burning Embers, Forgotten Wolves" on September 5, 2025 through Northern Silence Productions.
The project was founded in the winter of 2022 by Matheus Vidor. He writes, plays and records everything himself, creating music inspired by nature and shaped by the sounds of forests and mountains. The debut "Follow the Cold Path" was a personal journey into solitude and the natural world.
The new album keeps the same atmosphere and emotion but brings a warmer and more textured sound. It was written, performed and recorded entirely by Vidor, then mixed and mastered at VOIDSEA Studios. The cover artwork is by August Cappelen.
Autrest draws influence from Cân Bardd, Saor, Caladan Brood, Elderwind and Eldamar, crafting music that is powerful, introspective and rooted in a deep connection to nature.
