Eldamar is the atmospheric black metal and ambient solo project by Mathias Hemmingby, originating from Askim, Norway. The project began in the summer of 2015, initially inspired by themes drawn from J.R.R. Tolkien's universe, Heathenism, Elven Magic, and nature. On the latest release, "Astral Journeys Pt. II: Dissolution," out April 4, 2025, via Northern Silence Productions, Eldamar shifts focus towards existential ideas and non-physical experiences.
As the second part of a two-part album, "Astral Journeys Pt. II: Dissolution" continues Eldamar's intention to emotionally engage listeners and guide them to explore their own imagination through music. Visual art remains an integral part of the project, and this album is visually represented by an evocative painting from Polish surrealist Mariusz Lewandowski, chosen specifically to reflect the album’s introspective themes. Eldamar encourages listeners to approach this record as a personal spiritual journey, leaving the interpretation open-ended and unique to each individual experience.
The album will be available from April 4, 2025, via Northern Silence Productions in two initial CD formats: a regular Collector's Edition Digipak, limited to 999 copies, and a Special Collector's Edition in A5-DigiCD format.
