Virodh’s Harvest of Desolation lands on March 6th, 2026 via Erymanthian Records, and it comes in swinging from the first seconds. The band sit in technical death metal, with that old-school morbid stink still on the riffs, and they don’t smooth the edges. It’s fast when it needs to be fast, heavy when it needs to hit, and there’s a dissonant bite running through the record that keeps the whole thing tense.

Virodh started as a one-man project from Sourav Koer in Assam, with guitars and bass handled alone, then grew into a full lineup with Pranaw Chhetri on drums, Rudra Sharma on vocals, and Arun Nataranjan on bass. That mix of backgrounds shows up in the way the album moves. “Initiation” sets the atmosphere, “Swept in Dismay” burns straight through it, and “Dissolution of Karma” leans into more conscience-twisting technical work. “Kafkaesque” brings the blunt force back into the frame, “Great Depression” digs into bureaucratic rot and financial collapse, and “Whispers in the Void” closes it out with a final push into the dark.
Lyrically, the album stays close to societal unrest, de-establishment, and the machinery of dystrophy. It’s a record that sounds like it was built to be played loud, with no interest in playing nice.
