Stench of Sorcery is a project built around atmosphere and narrative, set in a fictional world known as the Execrated Lands. The band works with themes of inner struggle, resilience and the search for light in a world on the brink of collapse.
That approach runs through The Palegold Menace, their debut full-length released in 2026. The album follows a continuous arc centred on the descent of Alric and the rise of forces beyond mortal control, with each track contributing to the same story.
The band says: "The Palegold Menace builds a dense and immersive atmosphere. Each composition unfolds as part of a larger arc, shifting between crushing weight and haunting melody, reflecting the descent of Alric and the rise of forces beyond mortal control."
They add: "Both musically and conceptually, the album expands the band’s identity. It is darker, more cohesive, and more ambitious. It is not just a continuation, but an evolution, where storytelling and sound merge into a singular, oppressive vision."
Musically, the record blends groove-driven death and death/doom with melodic passages shaped by ancient and eastern tonalities, keeping the focus on structure and atmosphere rather than excess.
The album is currently available in digital format, with the band exploring options for a physical CD release.
