Lowmist was created in 2019 as an outlet for Netzja to explore a more personal and melodic side of his songwriting. With Custodians of Pain, the project delves deeper into melancholic and sorrowful atmospheres, allowing harmonized guitar work to shape the core of the compositions. The interplay between Netzja and Naemoth brings a natural flow to the music, forged through years of collaboration in other projects.
The album follows the 2020 debut Supreme Nature (Darkwoods) and marks a new chapter in Lowmist’s evolution. The recording, mixing, and mastering were handled by Brais Barreiro at B2V Studios, preserving the album’s layered emotional depth and immersive production.
