OUT NOW: Norwegian extreme metallers :BOLVERK: release third album "Blodtaake" via Hellstain Productions

Norwegian metal band :BOLVERK: released their third full-length album, "Blodtaake", on October 23rd, 2026 through Hellstain Productions. The record is available digitally, on LP and CD.

"Blodtaake" follows "Uaar" from 2022 and "Svarte sekunder" from 2023 and represents a clear shift for the band. For the first time, all lyrics are written in Norwegian, while vocalist Narrenschiff is given more room to explore his full range, including considerably more clean vocals than on previous releases.

The album also introduces new drummer Hammarr, whose playing has left its own mark on the material.

Musically, :BOLVERK: describe their approach as Extreme Norwegian Metal. "Blodtaake" moves between melodic and atmospheric territory and much more aggressive material, with the band placing its sound somewhere between Sólstafir and Marduk.

The core album consists of six tracks running for more than six minutes each, with two additional bonus tracks included on CD, cassette and digital editions.

The cover artwork was once again painted by Kenneth Lien. Production was handled by :BOLVERK: and Magnus "Devo" Andersson, who also mixed and mastered the album at Endarker Studio in Sweden.
